Pocket Trap is a small and passionate indie studio based in São Paulo, Brazil. Founded in 2013, the studio focuses on delivering energetic, character-driven titles with the potential to reach multiple mediums.
The studio is best known for their work on Ninjin: Clash of Carrots, Dodgeball Academia, and its most recent title, Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo. Having launched in May 2025, Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo is the world’s first ‘yoyovania’. It is a vibrant top-down action adventure game that follows Pippit, a spoiled but endearing bat kid who is obsessed with yoyos and largely uninterested in the powerful mafia empire run by his Auntie.
Everything changes when a curse traps his Auntie inside the very yoyo she’s always thought to be a waste of Pippit’s time. Now, with their fates tied together, Pippit must start on an adventure that pits him against the city’s toughest crime lords. With the help of his cursed yoyo, he will learn to navigate the world, take down dangerous foes, and solve engaging puzzles. The game uniquely positions the yoyo as a narrative hook between Pippit and his Auntie, as they forge on with their quest to reclaim their family’s influence.
Pocket Trap is a small team led by Henrique Caprino, Henrique Lorenzi, and Rodrigo Zangelmi. The team has been making games for almost 12 years, largely inspired by the shows, games and movies they grew up with. Pocket Trap continues to prove that indie teams can deliver meaningful experiences which resonate with players around the globe.
