UNBEATABLE is a rhythm adventure where music is illegal and you do crimes. Follow the story of Beat and her band on the run, in a narrative experience full of big emotions powered by arcade-flawless rhythm gameplay.
D-CELL GAMES, the team behind the game, produced all three main trailers in-house, with the assistance of their publisher Playstack for both Trailers 1.0 and 2.0 (which received additional footage capture and editing assistance from Playstack's in-house team). Everybody on the D-CELL team has had their hands on the trailers, which were all directed by game directors RJ Lake and Andrew Tsai, with final editing also done by the both of them. As our debut game, UNBEATABLE has to do more than just speak loudly for itself - it has to communicate what the team at D-CELL can bring to this industry as a collective, which is why the trailers required our direct involvement. Every trailer was made with a clear goal and target audience, with a lot of creative decisions being influenced by the showcases we would include the trailer in, and the tone we wanted to set for someone watching all of them back to back. We broke a lot of rules in conventional trailer direction, like how we ultimately broke a lot of conventional design rules with UNBEATABLE itself, to give it the best possible chance it had in every showcase we placed these trailers in. With past experience having edited and assisted on trailer work for studios like Flippfly and 7th Beat Games, we were confident that we had the chops to execute some very difficult ideas for each trailer, while also simultaneously working on the game, and are extremely proud of the final results.
