Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a true love letter to the fans of the first Assassin’s Creed titles.
It is a return to the roots of the franchise with its pure stealth gameplay. For its launch gameplay trailer, we had to build on the foundation of the licence to offer a spectacle that would strike a chord with the fans.
For that, we had to find common ground with ideas that would be relevant to new fans while also celebrating the original ones. We reinterpreted the original credo “We work in the dark to serve the light” to Mirage’s storytelling “Every light has a shadow”.
This idea gave us a way to connect all game pillars through a common notion of light and shadow that we could apply to the art direction of the video. Extensive work went into the use of light and shadows in the creation of this trailer to establish a consistent and coherent graphical theme linked to the identity of the franchise
The audio for this trailer required special care. The music was an original composition created for the game by the band One Republic, and the video was directed and edited around it to follow its rhythm and enhance its impact. The voice-over was delivered by Shohreh Aghdashloo, a world-renowned actress who also plays Roshan, Basim’s mentor in the game. Her powerful performance brought depth and intensity to the trailer.
